What program(s) are/is making my internet go slow?My internet was fast yesterday and now its slow?
maybe you logged on to a virus by accsedent? My internet was fast yesterday and now its slow?
Programs will rarely affect the speed of your internet. They may bog-down your whole machine performance, but should not affect 'just' your internet.
I do see you have Firefox, and Google Chrome...and I am assuming you still have Internet Explorer. Does it seem to be going slower on one over the other? -- or are they all slow?
Before you go deleting things I would try downloading "spybot: search and destroy" (you can google it) You can run that to see if spyware is the reason for your slow internet connection.
If you connect with a cable modem you can also try to unplug the modem and plug it back in...this will sometimes reset your connection to your internet server and allow for a faster connection. (Note: If you have a router of somekind -- LAN, Wireless, etc.-- then you may have to reset them both. i.g. Unplug power to modem and router. Plug in modem first and let set for a couple minutes, then plug in router, let that set for a couple minutes, then try accessing the internet)
If all else fails you can attempt to contact your internet service provider and see if they can do anything to boost your speed
Hope this helps.
