What is the correct way of addressing retired members of the military?

My daughter is volunteering as a host at the military hospitality lounge at the airport where most of the people she has encountered are retired veterans.

What is the proper way for an 18 yr. old to address a retired member of the military? She uses Sir and Ma'am presently, but being 18 doesn't actually want to ask her supervisor. What is the correct way of addressing retired members of the military? Those two titles are fine. Pass on my thanks for her volunteering. I use the USO lounges at various airports and am pleased that young Americans are stepping forward and making a contribution with their time. What is the correct way of addressing retired members of the military?
the addresses she uses are quite appropriate.....What is the correct way of addressing retired members of the military?Sir or ma'am is appropriate. Unless the vets say otherwise. Please extend my heartfelt gratitude to your daughter.
I would stick with sir and ma'am.What is the correct way of addressing retired members of the military?Sir or Ma'am is appropriate.

Mr. or Mrs.....

If the person still uses their rank then addressing them by their rank would be appropriate. What is the correct way of addressing retired members of the military?
If she wants she can probably even call them by their rank if they were enlisted. If they were officers keep calling then Sir or Ma'am.
Sir or Ma'am is fine but using the persons last military rank is better. What is the correct way of addressing retired members of the military?
Sir and Ma'am are fine. There are those that will tell you that they worked for a living and don't want to be called sir or ma'am. They will let you know.
Sir or Maam is the proper way to address them unless she knows their rank. If she knows their rank and their name she should address them by their rank and name.

Such as:

Yes Sir Sgt. Jones

Or if a lady:

Yes Maam Major Smith
juan thats not the proper way to address ^^^ proper way if knowing there rank is just to call them sir or ma'am. inless your in uniform its not proper to call them by there rank.
do not call them by rank unless you are a soldier as well, and in uniform...
Sir and Ma'am are fine, but some former NCO's might insist on their enlisted rank. Still others might insist on their VFW rank if they're in VFW uniform.
What she is using is perfectly appropriate. Thank her for me for what she is doing. It really means a lot to many of us especially when we are travelling to an area we haven't been before.
Those responses are perfectly fine. If she ever has to introduce the retiree to someone, she would say, Sir, or Ma'am, this is retired Sergeant Major whoever or Retired Lieutenant Colonel whoever.

Most vets are not picky. Even using Mr. or Ms./Mrs. is fine.

I see my old retired 1SG all the time and I just call him by his first name haha!
