What are the best ways for someone in the military to pay for college when they get out?

Right now I am in the Marines, and am planning for the future when I want to go to college. Besides the GI Bill, what are some other ways I can use my military experience to my advantage in paying for it?What are the best ways for someone in the military to pay for college when they get out?as a marine that is currently doing just that i can tell you the best routes to take. first of all make sure that you pay for the gi bill kicker. It's definitely worth every penny. Also the National guard has hands down the most to offer prior service looking to go to school. Since your credits received from the Corps will transfer(smart transcript) that will help a little with school. the guard has a signing bonus for prior service as well as FTA(federal tuition assistance) totals 9,000 a year!!. This is all before receiving drill pay! you will get about 200 a month for drills. If you choose to go ROTC. which is what I've done then you get a whole lot more. I can seriously go on for hours on this. Message me and i can give you all the details that you could want.

don't listen to anyone that tells you to take classes now!!!!! trust me you'll get screwed!!!What are the best ways for someone in the military to pay for college when they get out?
apply to FASFA for a federal loanWhat are the best ways for someone in the military to pay for college when they get out?If you are at all interested in being an officer, consider ROTC. ROTC as a whole is pretty generous with scholarships, stipend and book money. With the GI Bill, you can get your education and not sacrifice quality of life. I believe that your prior enlisted experience will make you a better officerWhat are the best ways for someone in the military to pay for college when they get out?
When i was in, i took brown baggers classes offered by different colleges. These classes were offered during lunch hour. I also attended night classes. Performing your duties and going to school can really be a challenge, but it can be done. In the Army there is a saying: BE ALL YOU CAN BE!!!What are the best ways for someone in the military to pay for college when they get out?You can take classes now, while you are in the Corps, and part of the tuition will be paid by the Corps. There are probably classes being held on base. See your First Sargent about it.

Some colleges give credit for real life experience. You'll of course have to have proof of these types of things (extra schools and training you may have done in the military, your performance rates, recommendations from supervisors for things you've done.)
