What prevents a K9 from attacking another police or military personal around it?

I want to be a K9 unit if I join the Military police, that question has been on my mind for days. What prevents a K9 from attacking another police or military personal around it?The K9's go through intensive training to learn to sniff out whatever it is they are seeking. And they only attack when given the particular command to do so. The are very aware of their surroundings and purpose. What prevents a K9 from attacking another police or military personal around it?
They know who the handler is, and I think it's possible they recognixe the uniform. Basically k9s look for explosives and such though.

Good luck! I'm proud of you! (No clue who you are though, hehehe!)What prevents a K9 from attacking another police or military personal around it?The dogs are trained in the art of smell. A dog can smell about 100-200 times more stronger than humans..When a criminal is on the run he/she emits a odor that only dogs can pick up..Its in your sweat and as your blood pressure increases it is produced..On occasions the cops to get bit..It has nothing to do with recognizing a bad guy from a good guy.
They are smart, well trained dogs. They respond to commands, and know their handlers and the uniform. What prevents a K9 from attacking another police or military personal around it?They are well trained dogs.. they know the good guys from intruders. What prevents a K9 from attacking another police or military personal around it?
Training.
The handler. Did you watch the NFL playoffs when a K9 was in the end zone with his handler. A player caught a pass close to the handler and let his hand swing toward the handler and the K9 nipped the player. What prevents a K9 from attacking another police or military personal around it?
K9's usually do not attack other military personnel around them because of their handler's orders and positive control of the dog. It is very important however that if a military personnel sees a K9 and his handler to keep some distance from them unless the handler says its ok. Most dogs used are German Shepards and they are very protective of their owners. If a military personnel gets too close and surprises the k9 the dog will bite because he is also trained to react to a threat.
