How hard is it to be in a relationship and in the military?

I am about to leave for boot camp and I have an amazing boyfriend who I love and care for deeply. He is my biggest supporter in joining the military and has been not just a great boyfriend but one of the best friends I have ever had. However, I am worried since he is 21 and I am 19 if we can make it work. So, I would like to know about other people and their experience (positive and negative) with being in a military relationship.How hard is it to be in a relationship and in the military?Well...i am not in the military, but i dated a guy that was, and it was horrible...it was good at first everything was great...but he just wasnt ready to grow up...i dont even know how many times he cheated on me...the long distance thing sucked...he ended up going to Iraq and once he got back that was pretty much the end of us...but i think its all about how committed the two of you are to your relationship...if you do anything and everything to keep it together and make it work, then i dont see why it wouldnt work...but you both have to be aware of the fact that things are going to change...its going to get tough, on both of you...and yall just have to be there for each other and support each other....after him i got in another relationship that also ended up being long distance...and it worked...its the best relationship i've ever been in...we ended up moving in with each other and getting married...its just all about how committed the two of you are to making it work...yall should talk about it.How hard is it to be in a relationship and in the military?it sucks so bad. i would never reccomend it to anyone after dating a Marine.How hard is it to be in a relationship and in the military?Absences makes the heart grow fonder.
