The courts have never held that the provision of military chaplains by the armed forces is unconstitutional?

despite the fact that chaplains are religious leaders who are employed by and under the authority of the U.S. government. What arguments might the courts use to defend the military chaplain system? The courts have never held that the provision of military chaplains by the armed forces is unconstitutional? They have not. Chaplains are non-partisan and provide a service to all service members regardless of their religious convictions. The courts have never held that the provision of military chaplains by the armed forces is unconstitutional?
As an atheist,I think the whole idea is quite silly BUT.....

from http://atheism.about.com/od/churchstatem鈥?/a>

"The rationale for military and congressional chaplains is that when the government calls people away from home to render services to their nation, it takes them away from their home churches and religious community, a potential infringement on their right to free exercise of their religion. Doesn't it make sense, then, for the government to make up for that by providing some means of religious support? "

Frankly, the position should be open to ALL religions and also to atheists. The courts have never held that the provision of military chaplains by the armed forces is unconstitutional? There is nothing in the constitution that prevents military chaplains,

Separation of church and State, is NOT in the constitution.

The constitution just says the US government shall make no laws restricting the free exercise of religion.

Your not forced to go to Church or talk to a chaplain

They also have chaplains of all faiths. The courts have never held that the provision of military chaplains by the armed forces is unconstitutional?
