What is required to become an officer in the military?

I served years ago as an enlisted man. I was a medic. I am now probably too old anyhow, but I have toyed with the idea of reenlisting. I have a masters degree but it is in education, nothing pertaining to military. Just curious. What is required to become an officer in the military? If you have prior service you can usually add the length served to the minimum age. Thus with 42 being a minimum and having served 3 you could go in at 45. Your recruiter can update you on this.

The masters in education may help somewhat in receiving a commission but that would be up to the needs of the military. Check and see. What is required to become an officer in the military?

or if your degree is in something that they need then you can actually join as an officer, see you recruiter about that one.

There is a few right there. If you think your over age just check cause you can always get waivers for things like that.

Sorry cant expound on this to much cause there is so much information. Good luck.
Lets start off by saying the dude who said 26-28 is the age limit is completely stupid. There are usually about two different ways to become an officer in todays armed forces. The first way is to go through a 4 year college ROTC class, from this you will be comissoned into the armed forces as a 2nd LT., or as what many people like to call them, butter bars. The second way is to enlist into the armed forces and apply to attend OCS where after completion of that you will also achieve the rank of 2nd LT.What is required to become an officer in the military?I don't know how old you are but in the army you can enlist up to age 42. Generally to become an officer, a person has to graduate from one of the military academies, go OCS, or have been in a ROTC program while in college. Let's not forget the battlefield commission. I'm pulling for you. What is required to become an officer in the military?
A degree, arrogance, self-aggrandure and an uncanny inability to see the forest for the trees.

Seriously, I think you'd be good to go. Why not contact a recruiter and ask? I think the Army's recruiting age has been raised to 41.
