How old do i have to be to enlist for the military?

More specificly i want to join the marines i am 16 years old. At 15 i learned i should start working out to be prepared so already i can run a marathon easily:). Also i want to go to college but dont feel like waiting 4-5 years to get a degree in aerospace engineering. So wondering if i could do college and server for the military. GED waivers are getting harder to pick up.



You will not get an aerospace engineering degree while in the Marines. You may be able to earn some college credits, but the best thing you can do as enlisted is sign up for the GI Bill and get the money to go for that degree after your four years of service.



Your other option is to work your butt off in high school, get an NROTC (Marine option) scholarship. They will send you to college for your degree and you will serve part time (drills once a week, plus summers), then when you finish college you will be an officer in the USMC and be an engineer at the same time.How old do i have to be to enlist for the military?
it is cool you want to be a Marine, but if you want a degree in aerospace engineering join the Air Force, not only is that like mostly their job description and focus, but they have their own community college that you are automatically enrolled in once you become an Airman, you will also have your specific job training and the GI bill for college later.. it is a win-win-win in education for your goal.. but the Marines kick major *** so that is a plus too. me, I am joining the Navy..so good luck and more power to ya!How old do i have to be to enlist for the military?Alot of people can answer your question. You have to be at least 17 with parental consent. Obviously at 18, you do not need parental consent. While it is possible to get in with a GED, it's a lot of work and nearly impossible right now. 17 with your GED and parent's permission, 18 with your High School diploma.
