Is my 2 year old normal?

my baby boy turned 2 about 3 weeks ago, he doesn鈥檛 talk much, he says little words, like milk, mommy, ,cookie, water etc. also he is not potty train, though i try he is just too hard headed, I know he is not amazingly bright in these things but it doesn鈥檛 bother me. though there is something that bothers me. i have a lap top in which i work in and do online work on, every time he sees it he turns it on, goes to program and then goes to games, from there he plays a bunch of games from chess to card games, then he goes on the internet and goes to nick.com like his daddy and plays SpongeBob or jimmy neutron, he handle the computer as if he knows what he is doing he also goes to youtube and watches video, he has us all amazed, i fear what else he can do, is he normal? is this normal for a 2 year old to do? if not what can i do so he can stop loving the computer so much? he wakes up and all he wants is the laptop. What can I do so he can forget about it?Is my 2 year old normal?
Right now is the age that children are learning to use the potty. I wouldn't worry that he hasn't gotten it down yet. I think that he will pick it up soon. Just keep on him through out the day. Maybe he is getting to involved in the computer that he just doesn't "feel like" leaving the computer to use the bathroom. I would try and cut his computer time down a little. Maybe you can do some craft/building time for a short time through out the day so he can get his small motor skills working. Maybe some exercise time like kicking the ball throwing and catching the ball jumping jacks so he can get his large motor skills working. It sounds like he is a very smart little boy and likes to use the computer for mind stimulation. Maybe you can find some games he can play on the computer that will work with his vocabulary. He might find them alot of fun. My fourth son had a delay in small and large motor skills and his speech was hard to understand. Now he does well. He is an A student but his large motor skills aren't top notch. Sports are not his thing. He still talks to fast. But he loves to learn and absorbs everything like a sponge. My second son, his speech was difficult to understand his small motor skills needed much work and he is doing fine now. He is very invloved in sports in school he is taking a vocational class and is preparing for college. All children are different. They work at their own pace. Your son is working at his own pace. Just keep reminding him while he is on the computer about the potty. When he wants something make him say what he wants. Or at least encourage him to do so. My sister didn't say much before she was 3 and she is a very bright girl. She was graduated from school and going to college at age 16. I don't think you have anything to worry about.
You should have him tested and see about getting him into an advanced learning program that would be geared toward a child his age so that it would be fun and educational. There have been many documented cases of child genius that do not begin speaking right away but that will be truly advanced in other areas. Have fun and enjoy this time with him. Help him discover this world at his pace! Even if that is two times faster or more than others around him!Is my 2 year old normal?

My boys are 2 years old and have a fascination with my laptop. They aren't allowed to play with it anymore after they pulled a few keys off it. They will play on the house computer all the time. We bought them one of those learning laptops each for their birthday and they love them.

It has spelling and numbers on it. Since we have bought them (nearly 2 months ago) their speech has really improved. They cost us about $60 each, but were well worth it.Is my 2 year old normal?
it sounds normal for the most part but the fact that he can navigate the internet and things is enough to raise an eyebrow i would get him tested i have a nephew who is something like that he didnt potty train until he was 5 (not potty training by 2 isnt a big deal u raelly cant FORCE them) he was very late at talking and was good at computers and LOVED tv he has aspergers maybe u should get him tested??
wow.. i have never heard of a 2 year old being able to work a laptop! sounds amazing yet crazy. Very interesting...
It is good to know that I am not alone. I have a two and 1/2 year old and you have described my son with your words.He doesn't talk much but can work the computer as if he would be a grown up.He can open up the Internet get on PBS Kids,Nick Jr and even Nick and Disney just by using the address bar? He can even print on the copier.He understands Spanish and English but he can't talk much he only knows the first basic words.I'm glad to know not only my child is like this.

you know that albert einstine was a child prodigy, he had hard times talking and stuff like your kid, but if he can work a computer, wouldn't you trade that for basic skills anyday?
