How does a military medical enlistment waiver effect someone who is medicaly discharged with same condition?
Basically I'm wondering if the military worsens your pre-existing condition and medically discharges you is it still possible to receive VA benefits. In my mind if they allow you in and then make you worse and kick you out for it then you should be allowed some kind of compensation. Who is to say the condition would have automatically deteriorated even without the ground and pound Army life? How does a military medical enlistment waiver effect someone who is medicaly discharged with same condition?Everyone wants a free lunch. You said at MEPS everything is fine please let me in please, please! You couldn't handle it now you want to go on welfare at the military expense. How does a military medical enlistment waiver effect someone who is medicaly discharged with same condition?Yes it can happen but if the condition gets worse you will be in front of a physical evaluation board to be checked out. (Takes about three months altogether) They will be fair with you.How does a military medical enlistment waiver effect someone who is medicaly discharged with same condition? You can apply for VA benefits, even if the medical condition was one which should have disqualified you in the first place. The major exception to this is the case of personality and characterological disorders. The VA won't even afford medical treatment for those and that has been the case since 1981. It's because therapy does little to improve those conditions. Even if the condition is a pre-existing disqualifying condition, completing three years or more of service with it is a presumption of service aggravation and such cases are automatically sent through the branch's disability evaluation system. However, because you received a waiver to enter the service does not pre-suppose that the military contributed to the worsening of your condition. An equally valid argument could be made that you waived any right to military compensation if the condition got worse during your term of service. "Waiver" can mean that too. It cuts both ways.
