How advanced is our military technology compared to other countries?

I was having a conversation with my step father about how I heard we have the most advanced military technology in the world. Then he went about saying how the Iraqis and Afgans have some explosive technology that even us Americans cannot comprehend. For instance, the phone call bomb detenotion and explosive marbles. Is it true that our scientist can't figure out how to develop these kinds of clever explosive devices? How advanced is our military technology compared to other countries? Not true at all. We do in certain ways have better technology but we are also on different levels than other countries. Along with that, a lot of our creations and technology are given to other countries by us. Fighter aircrafts are a good example. In terms of bombs and explosives, not true either. It may seem like in the news that they always have bombs and explosives that out smarting us, they just fight a way different war. Hand to hand, and in the air... They can't compete. So they hide and explode things from a distance, or use suicide bombers. But no, they are not beyond us.How advanced is our military technology compared to other countries?
Your scientist does not even think of tinkering with that remote device. The reason for this is that warfare is a direct confrontation, while remote explosive device is use by guerrillas and terrorist to counter the advance weapons the American does. Besides, these explosive is easy and cheap to produce. Of course, I do not know how to produce the explosives, but, according to certain group, this device is cheaper to produce and more effective. How advanced is our military technology compared to other countries? We used those devices in the '70s and '80s and decommissioned them in '90s. The United States is truly the most technologically-advanced country in the world. How advanced is our military technology compared to other countries?
No, I think what he means is it's unpredictable; we could make these in our garages at home but don't use them and they're hard to detect and prevent detonating. How advanced is our military technology compared to other countries? Before Obama I would have said super superiorer. Since Obama, just superior.
