How do British private military companies practice with firearms with the laws on them so strict?

There are around 9 private military contractor companies based in the UK. How do they get the practice using up to date weapons such as rifles and pistols if they are completely illegal under British law???

It would seem that if they had a way around the law, I would want to join one of their companies as I enjoy target shooting.



What would prevent them from having 2.7 million members in their organization and simply be a cover for a shooting club?

They probably are licensed to train on a UK Military or Police shooting ground, failing that they could go to any E.U. country that doesn't have such Draconian Gun Laws as the U.K.How do British private military companies practice with firearms with the laws on them so strict?They use Army firing ranges or indoor ranges the same as Gun clubs do.

Special licences no doubt.

The laws only prevent you and me (decent law abiding people) from having handguns and rifles. People who actually want to kill people can have them, thats why gangs have them.
Most of them are already well trained ex-soldiers - usually with experience in the special forces or military police.



In addition, firearms restrictions in the United Kingdom don't cover all firearms - shotguns are especially popular and one doesn't necessarily need a fully automatic, high caliber weapon to practice shot consistency.



Not to mention they could practice overseas in places where firearms laws are more lax.

Arguably the UK is an impractical place for PMC employees to practice firearms skills, but it can still be done to some extent if the employees in question aren't already extremely proficient or if they haven't practiced overseas too.How do British private military companies practice with firearms with the laws on them so strict?
some good guess work in the answers already given,however none of them are correct,while arms companies are privately owned they all operate under a government licence to produce weapons,when a weapon is produced that is of military interest they are sent to the defence research agency for evaluation to undergo a variety of tests.all weapons produced in the UK are tested in the UK prior to overseas sales for the simple reason that you have to know that your product works and the reason its UK tested on MOD ranges is that all firearm sales in the UK only happen under the guidance of the government(not to mention the money they make out of the sale),also,dont forget that the term illegal firearm does not apply to government agency's,hm forces,police,security services(mi5/mi6),
If they are licenced to manufacture weapons then they must have the right to test them and any weapons for military use are tested by the military themselves. The laws governing the individual's right to carry weapons and the arms manufacturers laws are not the same
