Is a US military allowed to vote in a presidential election just like every American ?

I remember that i was told that once you are a military you can't vote, it's not permitted by the law.

Is that true ?Is a US military allowed to vote in a presidential election just like every American ?Members of the military who are registered in their home districts can get absentee ballots and large unit headquarters usually expedite this.

It would be stupid to have the people out there defending democracy forbidden to participate in it.

Within the military, it's a different story. You can't vote for a unit commander, whether to do that night march or what's for dinner. But you can vote in US Elections. Is a US military allowed to vote in a presidential election just like every American ?
lmao, of course they can, whether there over seas or not. If you get a dishonorable discharge is what your thinking of. Then they can take your right if they want to. Is a US military allowed to vote in a presidential election just like every American ?yes they can vote.

In fact according to the UCMJ, they must vote in every election by mail away ballot.

However Officers cannot comment on the President's actions, pro or con, because their rank comes directly from the office of the president.

Enlisted however, we get our promotions from the Dept of the Army (or whatever branch they may be in).

So yea, Bush is an idiot.
what?? that is effing ridiculous. of course they can vote. someone was filling your head with nonsense.....probly some anti-government conspiracy theorist?? sheesh. do you think we would have the largest volunteer fighting force in the world if guaranteed rights like this were taken away? i hope you tell that someone that they are an idiot. Is a US military allowed to vote in a presidential election just like every American ?No. You not only can vote, but you'd BETTER! The person who lives in the White House is your boss.

I think that they meant you can't attended political rallies or protests in uniform, or out.Is a US military allowed to vote in a presidential election just like every American ?
If someone told you that then they are trying to convince you not to vote. The truth is, when people don't vote, republicans get elected.
WE can exercise our rights and vote............McCain - Palin 2008!

Whoever told you that people in the military can't vote is full of **** and ill informed! Is a US military allowed to vote in a presidential election just like every American ?
No, soliders get the right to vote, whether they are stateside or not.
Yes, absentee ballot requests need to be submitted by certain deadlines, depending on what the service members state of legal residence is (since they are voting for that state). All you have to do is fill out Standard Form 76A "REGISTRATION AND ABSENTEE BALLOT REQUEST - FEDERAL POST CARD APPLICATION (FPCA)" and mail it to the appropriate election official.

It is highly recommended that military members vote because as it was mentioned the president is our boss; "Commander in Cheif". However someone mentioned that you MUST vote in accordance with the UCMJ, this is wrong and should not have been posted. Please check your sources before posting irronious information.
