How common is it for people to become police officers after leaving the military?

Do alot of people plan to become police officers when they complete their military service? Are there many police officers that have been in the military at some point in their lives? How common is it for people to become police officers after leaving the military?I was in the military. Just got back from my second tour in Iraq. I would say more people join the military to help with becoming police officers as opposed to going in the military, getting out and then becoming police officers. A lot of people in the military join because they have records and can't get a civil service job. Although some of the best men I have had the pleasure serving with =)How common is it for people to become police officers after leaving the military? It depends do you wanna be a police officer? and yeah many do have some millitary background. My dad was in the military for three years, he was a MP (Military Police). As soon as he got out he got a job as a Police Officer and has been one ever since, the past 30 years. In that time he got continuously promoted and eventually became Commander (2nd in Command). But there are a lot of job in the Army that become civilian jobs, police officers are only one of them! My husband is in the Army right now and hes a 13B Cannon Crewmember.. for that MOS there is no civilian equivilent job!
