I'm 23 years old and seriously thinking about joining the military Air Force. I recently came across rotc college programs and was wondering if you have to join the military first, than join the rotc college program or is it the other way around. Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.Do you have to join the military service in order to join an rotc college program? No you can join ROTC but then you have to serve up your contract after college graduation.Do you have to join the military service in order to join an rotc college program?ROTC is a college program that provides leadership and management training that can lead to a commission as an Officer in one of the military branches.
That being said..
You must be a full time student at a college or university that offers ROTC either at campus or at another school that is cross enrolled to provide ROTC to a school that does not have it's own program.
You can take ROTC the first two years with no military commitment (unless you have a ROTC scholarship the first two). When you become an academic junior..you must contract with ROTC..which means you agree to accept a commission and serve as an Officer for 4 years after graduation in one of the branches of service..or cease being in ROTC.Do you have to join the military service in order to join an rotc college program?you dont have to join the military to be in rotc, you have to be enrolled in the college tho. i dont think you have to actually join the military after it, maybe be put in reserves idk. but it does help alot with leadership in the military if you were to join after college.Do you have to join the military service in order to join an rotc college program?
Ask who ever is in charge of the ROTC program. They will know everything you need to know about ROTC. Good Luck
