I'm planning on attending ROTC and I'm qualified to get in except for possibly one thing. I'm moderately allergic to both nuts and whey. I carry an epipen although my reactions aren't bad enough to need it. They aren't life threatening. Is there any way I can still get into the military? Can I serve in the reserves or maybe a different specialty such as military police? I want real answers from people who know what they're talking about 100%. Thanks. Can I serve in the military with food allergies? It is possible to serve with allergies. Talk to a recruiter so they can give you up to date info. Things change and get updated a lot. However, I do know that you can serve with allergies. Can I serve in the military with food allergies?since this is a food allergy then yes. because you are the one who exposes you to it. no one can force you to eat something. so since you know what foods you can and can not eat. then you will be expected to manage that for yourself. nuts is no big deal many people are allergic to nuts. those are easy to avoid. but whey is something you must have really learned what to avoid.
really no big deal. it shouldn't limit you in any way. again... because this is something you would have to do to your self. the military tries to accommodate different people. allergy, kosher, no pork, vegetarian even vegan life styles. they give you the food. but you choose what to put in your mouth.
