Arrange marriages in the military, should the military even get involved?

Ok I dont understand why the military, or specifically the ncis, should even get involved in arrange marriages in the military? If I decide to get married to a girl, they should have no say in it. Its my choice. Recently they arrested a bunch of good sailors and their wives. If the wives married for a green card, whats the diffrent from people just marrying for money. The military should butt out of people's personal lives, and focus on job at hand. It sure sounds like the NCIS had a strong Focus

on doing their Jobs...Arrange marriages in the military, should the military even get involved?I believe a few years back they enacted a law prohibiting this very thing, like it was said above. I remember hearing something about if the spouse were to divorce the service member within the first few years of marriage he/she would be deported back to their country of origin. Many marriages took place just so someone could get their green card then dump the servicemember.



Lest you forget that the servicemember is the governments business to watch over and take care of so I see nothing wrong with it at all.
This is called fraud (among other things). Its illegal. Its also illegal to hold up stores at gun point. Its illegal to hit people, even if they really, really deserve it. Self defense is okay. It is illegal to set your house or car on fire to collect the insurance money. This is just the short list. There are many more things that are illegal, like drugs. Um , you seem to forget that it is illegal to marry for a green card. And being in the Military does not exempt you from the law.

well said, but when your wear the uniform, you become govt property- so....
i know how you feel....but once you wear their uniform....your gov't property and theres not much you can do about it.
