I would appreciate answers from people in the military. What do you think that the military is going to do with the Berretta M9 pistol?I can't predict the future...but when I first started standing watch in the Navy, we carried a .45.
Then, we switched over to the Berretta, which I liked a lot better. Can't say why. It just felt natural to hold and to shoot.
Things always change though, so it wouldn't surprise me if they switched to something else...maybe something with more stopping power. What do you think that the military is going to do with the Berretta M9 pistol?
going back to the old 45What do you think that the military is going to do with the Berretta M9 pistol?I hope they'd replace it with a Glock 40 Cal. but since those weapons are made in Austria I doubt it.
I hope they throw it in the trash and go back to the 45. Something that'll take care of business. But who really knows what these "professional" military men will decide. What do you think that the military is going to do with the Berretta M9 pistol?i don't think they are to replace the beretta with the .45. the .45 has been the most reliable pistol there is. i know this because my dad is the military. What do you think that the military is going to do with the Berretta M9 pistol?
they are going to probably upgrade with a extended mag for a 45 model. the m9 has a few problems but it has more kick and more bullets so its hard to say. i bet a deal is in the works but with everything government it will take a long time.
there going to give'm to me and then im going to take over the world muhauhaahauhahuaha! What do you think that the military is going to do with the Berretta M9 pistol?

edit. sorry, but i gave a factual answer, polymer means little. dependability is desired.
I hope they go back to the .45 caliber pistol. The 9MM is a peacetime pistol. It was made to wound, not kill. We are not fighting the same battle anymore. We need to go back to a weapon that will put a guy on his a$$ on the first try, not the fourth, fifth, or fifteenth.
Glock?
I would hope they would the 9mm pistol does not have the stopping power fo the old .45, more rounds are nice .. but IMO i would want to knock someone to the ground with one shot not 2 or 3
Hopefully they'll get rid of it and replace it with something better. The M9 is not a reliable sidearm. I'd have to ask my buddy in Security Forces if he has heard anything on the subject -- he hates the M9 more than I do.
Don't know if they are going to do anything with it, they should go back to the .45 tho. used to be shoot once and check fire, now it's shoot 3 time's and check fire. more bullets don't always mean better gun.
