I am a paintball player and I just bought a TRU Spec combat shirt off a paintball supply website. On it there are places to put a flag, rank, and unit patch. I have deep respect for all who serve, so I don't want to offend anyone. I am not a member of the military. I fully intend to read up on how to properly wear them, and I am not planning to impersonate a military service member, merely to add some realism to my gear.Is it OK to wear military patches/insignia on a paintball jacket? If you want to add realism, why are you playing paintball?
This is quite realistic, well, not as realistic as Sim rounds but whatever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCdAY4Pic鈥?/a>
Anyways, back on topic. Army Regulation 670-1, paragraph 1-4 states:
"d. In accordance with chapter 45, section 771, title 10, United States Code (10 USC 771), no person except a member of the U.S. Army may wear the uniform, or a distinctive part of the uniform of the U.S. Army unless otherwise authorized by law. Additionally, no person except a member of the U.S. Army may wear a uniform, any part of which is similar to a distinctive part of the U.S. Army uniform. This includes the distinctive uniforms and uniform items listed in paragraph 1鈥?2 of this regulation. Paragraph 1鈥?2 goes on to define "Distinctive uniforms and uniform items:"
a. The following uniform items are distinctive and will not be sold to or worn by unauthorized personnel:
(1) All Army headgear, when worn with insignia.
(2) Badges and tabs (identification, marksmanship, combat, and special skill).
(3) Uniform buttons (U.S. Army or Corps of Engineers).
(4) Decorations, service medals, service and training ribbons, and other awards and their appurtenances.
(5) Insignia of any design or color that the Army has adopted."

Personally, I think it would be really disrespectful. I also don't see how buying these ranks, flag, and unit patch make paintball any more realistic. If you want the flags go for it, but as for people who wear the ranks and unit patch- I think it makes them look ignorant and disrespectful to those who served.
Yes, I believe it will offend members of the military and on the other hand other members won't care.
TL;DR: Don't wear them.Is it OK to wear military patches/insignia on a paintball jacket? It's perfectly okay, like the other guy said, as long as you don't play paintball on a military base or impersonate a service member. I do think it's kind of silly to go out of your way to buy military gear for paintball though.(unless you're doing some re-enactment I guess)Is it OK to wear military patches/insignia on a paintball jacket?perfectly fine...unless u plan to paintball on a military installation.......and yes most military bases have a paintball field....in that case it would get u into trouble...
