I mean some people say that the military will only turn you into a mental case and turn you into a weapon and a lot of people who get out are nut jobs.
I don't say this by the way. Its completely disrespectful, Id like to hear your opinion on it though. How does the military change you mentally? Does it make you a better person? It teaches discipline and respect. It doesn't make you a mental case, unless you were already one to begin with. Since I was in the military, 30 years ago, I'm speaking from experience, not just what I think. The problem is people say just what they think, without speaking from experience. Walk a mile in someone else's shoes and then comment. How does the military change you mentally? Does it make you a better person?
I served six years in one of the Army Ranger Battalions. When i got out i was a Staff Sergeant and had been over seas in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan for a total of over two years. I Joined when i was 18 strait out of high school and have been out for one year this month. Coming strait from high school to the military never gave me time to really discover who i really was. the army taught me my capability's physically, mentally, and in the face of danger. when in something like the military you are never allowed to totally be who you are. you are what they want you to be and thats the way it needs to be to work. going into the military after being on your own for a while will set you up for success but will also be much more of a culture shock than some one who just dives into it at a younger age. I am a better person for knowing what i am able to do and it gave me confidence i will have for the rest of my life. How ever going from a 18 year old chomping at the bit to help my country in a time of war to a long haired hemp wearing dude. i have to say that it herts my heart every time i here about a war any where in the world. War is terrible and unfortunately there are people out there that have to be fought otherwise more innocent people will die than if no one steps in. I hate the fact that we are at war and our brothers and sisters are being taken from us every day. A lot of veterans are not nut jobs and contribute greatly to society. like most things you only hear about the bad ones. unless you are a veteran than you will never really know the hardships and pain that has been put on there shoulders to carry for the rest of there lives. There are a lot of us out there that are glad to have served and want nothing in return, just to live in peace. I just wish every day that no one else has to die in a war.How does the military change you mentally? Does it make you a better person? The military makes you stronger not only physically but mentally. Boot camp shapes you into a soldier and soldiers need strong self-discipline to exist in their daily lives. The army instills values in you that build your character. How does the military change you mentally? Does it make you a better person?
The military idea is to create combat machines/soldiers. Our for s society to exist things like combat and etc must not exist so yes the military will make you a "mental case" is a sad but real reality. How does the military change you mentally? Does it make you a better person?Lollipop, lollipop, oh, lolli lolli lolli lollipop

Tell you why
Her kiss is sweeter than a cherry pie
And when she does her shaky rockin' dance
Man, I haven't got a chance
