I want to purchase a computer for my 4 year old?

My daughter is 4 years old, and LOOOOVES to play her games on the computer. She is really good at using it for her ABC, counting, shapes and stuff like that. BUT, I find myself arguing with her so that I can get some work done, lol. I am considering getting her her very own first computer. I am looking for a cheap laptop, that can support internet %26amp; about 5 different games. Nothing major, just Dora, SpongeBob, and a couple other Preschool games. It has to have WiFi so it can connect to the home router for her nickjr.com, pbs.com etc....Anyway...what kind of laptop would be best for this? I see them online for $279, but can it handle these games without being a sloooooooooow computer. She is very active, and has ZERO patience for waiting on her game to load, lol. Anyway, any suggestions? What is the best place to purchase? And how much memory and stuff should it have??I want to purchase a computer for my 4 year old?

I would recommend to get a laptop with atleast 1GB of Ram. Since you said that your daughter does very little patience, this should allow for the games you mentioned to run efficiently. However, you might have to pay slightly more that $250, I would say in the range of $300 - $400. The reason for that is because anything under 1GB of Ram will most likey take a while to load games and any other programs considering that all new laptops already have Windows Vista installed (Windows Vista utilizes quite a bit more memory than Windows XP). In my opinion, if you want programs and games to run smoothly, I would recommend nothing less than what I reccomended.I want to purchase a computer for my 4 year old?
A laptop for a 4 year old? No freakin' way.

IF you want her to play games, buy a leapfrog. No toddler needs a laptop.
