How can you become a pilot in the military?

I would like to become a pilot for the military, but i know you have to have certain requirments. What might they be?How can you become a pilot in the military?I am a Naval Aviator, just out of flight school in Meridian, MS headed to Lemoore, CA to fly the F/A-18C Hornet.

General requirements for the navy are as follows

1. Must be an Officer

2. To be an officer you must go through the academy, NROTC or OCS

3. To do any of the above you must do well in school (high school for academy or nrotc, college for ocs

4. any degree will do, i had a political science (i went to san diego state with a nrotc scholarship)

5. must get selected for Pilot near the end of nrotc/academy, for this a GPA over 3.0, good astb scores (like the sat but designed to tell aptitude for pilot), and pass pilot medical ( not too bad, need 20/40 uncorrected vision, correctable to 20/20, no migraines at all.

6. Go through 2 years of flight school which is stressful at times but amazing and rewarding much of the time

I went navy because I feel it to be the most challenging and rewarding. Getting to land a jet aboard a carrier is one of the most amazing things i have done in my life so far....wont ever get to do that in the air force..that being said, navy life is hard...being at sea a lot, away from family more than the air force. Yes the air force has the F-22...a very cool very expensive plane 500 mill. I am very happy with the F-18 though..and i have a tailhook to land on the ship!!!

hope this helpsHow can you become a pilot in the military?
A sure way if you are young enough is to get into the USAFAHow can you become a pilot in the military?join the military first.
I don't know if you are going to hear from any recruiters through Y/A or not, but they are the ones you will need to talk to. I can tell you that the best branch for becoming a pilot is the U.S. Air Force. If I were you, I would start with an Air Force Recruiter. Every area has offices you can contact. How can you become a pilot in the military?Join the Air Force and go flight school to earn your wings. How can you become a pilot in the military?
Don't join the military until you find out or not if you can pass there flight physical. You will also need a college degree.

The military will pay for your college but make sure you enlist as an officer or ROTC. Do not join the enlisted side because some recruiter said you do this and then become an officer. I know because that is what I am working on now.

The Air Force seems to get treated the best from what I have seen. I wish you luck in becoming a pilot
I guess my first question would be are you in the Military?

Second do you have flight experience?

Last i retired 12 years ago however i don't think things have changed much if your already in you need to apply for a Mos change through the personnel branch they will tell you the requirements then One of which i believe still stands is 20/20 with out corrective lens.

If your not already in ask the nearest Military recruiter they will have all the up to-date information.

Hope it all works out for you.

You have to be able to breathe.
well im a helicopter pilot in the army, went straight from high school to flight school and have been flying for 6 years now. Im a warrant officer, which requires no college but at least an Associates degree to continue up the rank structure. Most of the requirements are waiverable but you should be in good health and good shape. Talk to the different military recruiters, Im not sure if the other branches have warrant officers but that is the easiest way to become a pilot without a college degree.
