How long before a move can you get on military housing waiting list?

We are moving to my husband's new duty station in late Spring, and my question is does anyone know how far ahead (if at all) we can get on a wait list for military housing?? We are stateside. Or do we just move down there and Then look for a place? Thank you.How long before a move can you get on military housing waiting list?Call the housing office they will put you into a level 2 or three category. They will need a copy of his orders. Then when you arrive you call and inform them of your current location and they will move you up in priorities if they havent already because of the date on your pcs orders. How long before a move can you get on military housing waiting list?It depends on your husbands rank I believe. If he is junior enlisted (E-6 and below) he will have to check into his command and then housing can put y'all on the waiting list. If he his of higher ranking, typically, housing will put you on the waiting list. Also, do you have children? Is anyone who is PCS'ing an EMFP? If so, they can put you on a wait list one month prior to the move. How long before a move can you get on military housing waiting list?Depends on the base. Call base housing at the new location and find out or contact your husband's sponsor if one has been assigned. The base may also have a website that might have the info there for PCS'ing people along with a link to "pre-register" for it.How long before a move can you get on military housing waiting list?
you are not eligible until he actually checks IN to the new command. SOME housing offices will allow you to get on the list sooner but you will not move up the list until he checks in.
