How do i handle people who are against the military?

Im sick of people trash talking the marines (im planning on being one) and all of the other military branches. They have no right talking bad about the brave men and women that protect us. What should i say to get them to shut up and stop talking bad about our armed forces?How do i handle people who are against the military?Tell them that members of the armed services have no more say than them about what military conflicts the US is involved in. Tell them to go talk to a politician who can change something rather than you who cannot. A soldier is simply a citizen who has offered to go fight wherever American society says is necessary. Once you put on the uniform you don't decide who you are going to fight or even if you will fight at all. Being a soldier does not mean that you want to go kill people or cause problems throughout the world. Being a soldier just means that you are brave enough and selfless enough to stand up for this country.



Unfortunately, many people who don't realize never will. If they don't want to acknowledge your view then it is best to just walk away. Being the bigger person has profound effects even if it doesn't seem that way. Just know that there are those who support you and appreciate your sacrifice.



I hate the idea of war, but blaming the men and women who serve in the armed forces is just plain silly. They are a very necessary part of our country and they put themselves in more dangerous situations than any other person. They do that for very little monetary reward.How do i handle people who are against the military?

Sorry, but you are completely incorrect. The First amendment of the US Constitution grants the freedom of speech, which means people ABSOLUTELY have the right to talk bad about the brave men and women that protect us.

The mature, noble, thing to do is let them talk, then go wherever you're sent and risk death defending thier right to go on badmouthing everyone who's ever done anything for thier country.



Perhaps you can take some comfort in knowing you're better than they are. I couldn't, and I can't imagine how anyone could, but people seem to do it every day.
I was flying home and once your in the military you can pick out military easily. anyways I was drinking with a few soldiers waiting for our flights and someone overhead our conversations and called us all baby killers. (yet im a medic) we pretty much told that person that if we didn't exist these muslim radicals would be here blowing up cars and having suicide bombers here. tell them thatHow do i handle people who are against the military?
Get up nice and close to them and very quietly but intently tell them that you plan to join the military service in the future and will protect their Constitutional right to free speech. And their right to act the fool and the coward. The military doesn't want you anyway
I run into this problem all the time, and most notably from my best friend, who has attempted to forbid me from joining the Navy. My sister, two previous boyfriends, and my best friend are all in the military, and I attempted to join, but was rejected; and it drives me crazy to hear someone bad mouthing the troops.



I usually tell them that the only reason they have the privilege to say horrible things about the military is because those very people DIED defending their right and freedoms to say such things.



And if It where not for the military, you would not even have the courage or the right to say such things about them, or to even voice your opinion in the first place.



But I have also had some excellent results IE shutting these people up, with just one small phrase. . . .



IF YOU DO NOT STAND BEHIND OUR TROOPS, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO STAND IN FRONT OF THEM!



LOL. I have never seen a more shocked expression on someones face then the first time I used that phrase.



The sad problem is that soldiers gave up their lives, time with their children and spouse, and risked mental and physical harm so that these very same people can sit in their own homes safely at night, and walk around town saying these horrible things without fear of retaliation.



Its not right for them to do so, but they sadly DO have the right, although they never should.
Tell them if they can't stand behind our soldiers STAND IN FRONT OF THEM. (Think about it for a second.)
