extra info- there were political, social, and economic causes, but i need to now the military. How did the military help cause the russian revolution? The 1905 or 1917 Revolution?
In short, they did not support the 1905 Revolution anyway so that failed.
The 1917 Revolution they supported, fed up from fighting on the front line and with little food, many were returning home and abandoning the front. With the mood in the country ready for confrontation and the returning soldiers, the people were joined by the army in overthrowing the Tsar. How did the military help cause the russian revolution? The military were partly responsible for Bloody Sunday, one of the main triggers of the Russian Revolution when 100,000 peaceful protesters came to the winter palace to talk to the Tsar and were cruelly shot down. This however was not the Tsar's fault as he was away at the time the military was responsible. They also could be cruel and ruthless, and the cheka (or the secret police of the Tsar's) was a main cause of fear and distrust. The military was involved in WW1, and it could be argued that thier loss (although really it was the Tsar's poor tactics) were a major cause of the revolution, as it is clear that WW1 was one of the foremost reasons the revolution took place.
Obviously as you know these are not all the reasons, others (some much more important) also played a part ie Rasputin, Lenin, the Tsar's poor leadership and WW1.
